Request for Proposals 

Purpose
Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus is requesting proposals for a Development Consultant (individual or organization) to lead the organization in developing and executing a strategic development program. 

Our Background 
Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus is an inclusive, community-based performing arts organization that creates musical experiences to entertain and enlighten, inspire change, and build community. Through colorful performances that blend traditional choral music with musical theater, jazz and pop, and a gay aesthetic, we seek to delight our audiences, enrich our members and explore issues relevant to LGBT people and their allies—enlivening Chicago’s cultural landscape and creating a better community for all. The Board of Directors need a professional with development expertise, and one that preferably comes with experience working with arts and culture institutions. 

Project Expectations:

  • A well-crafted strategy to reach out to a large network to re-engage them as donors and to connect with funding opportunities from foundations and corporations 
  • An effective donor communication and campaign marketing strategy 
  • A creative fundraising plan 
  • A clear implementation plan 
  • Successful execution of the fundraising and implementation plan 

Scope of Work: 

  • Provide analysis of our current funding streams 
  • Develop and execute an ongoing strategy to cultivate and expand donor relationships 
  • Implement strategies for various platforms (email, social media, etc.) 
  • Identify, cultivate, and secure fundraising opportunities 
  • First year fundraising goal: $355,000

Project Begins: April 15, 2025 

Budget for Project: $45,000.00
